Located in the exact center of town, Jo'An's Restaurant is under new management as of July 2010. There is extensive outdoor seating which is popular with the weekend motorcycle enthusiasts. The Gnome started serving breakfast recently and have some interesting items. The chef's omelette ($11.95) features asparagus, chopped tomatoes, sundried tomatoes, parmesan and jack cheeses. For egg lovers, the bacon and eggs dish ($8.95) has three eggs, bacon strips and homemade cottage fried potatoes. Also, the eggs Benedict ($14.95) has two eggs, a muffin, Canadian bacon and topped with hollandaise sauce. You may want to get adventurous by ordering the trout and eggs ($13.95) which is served with fresh rainbow trout filet, grilled and 3 eggs cooked to order. For south of the border fare, try the huevos rancheros ($9.95) which aptly contains two eggs, ranch sauce, cheese and served with black beans and pico de gallo. A popular item is the Belgian waffle ($7.95) which is served with fresh strawberries, whipped cream & syrup and Canadian bacon. The vegetable quiche ($7.95) is baked with asparagus, mushrooms, tomato, basil, with cheddar and jack cheeses.
They have a build your own breakfast where you pick any four of the following items: from eggs, hasbrowns, homefries, english muffins, ham, bacon, toast, fresh fruit cup, sausage, bratwurst, biscuit, pancakes or pork chops. This costs $8.95 as well as all the omelettes, which include denver, italian, 3 cheese, artichoke and totella de potatas. They also have some egg dishes like eggs benedict and eggs budapest for $8.95. They also serve some quiches, pancakes, french toast and cereals.
If its real early and you are eager to eat breakfast, this is your best bet. Breakfast starts at 5:30 AM and they have alot to choose from. They have scrambled eggs, pancakes, muffins, french toast, omelettes (4 egg) with choice of ham, bacon, sausage, cheddar, swiss, pepper jack, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, tomatoes and jalapenos. The price is lowest in town at $5.99. They also have a breakfast sandwich and offer sides of bagels, toast, eggs and hash browns.
Idyllwild Tea Company is now at the location where Oma Bakery used to be in town center. Baked items is the specialty. Try their of scones and muffins. The new location sports lots of outdoor sitting.
