The Restaurant Gastrognome is
quite centric to Idyllwild. As you are looking at the Tree
Monument in downtown, the Gastrognome is about 100 yards down the
street, to the right. Their trademark is efficient and
friendly service, reserved, but stately atmosphere and
delicious food. They have almost every type of meal
imaginable including lobster, steak, lamb, seafood,
sandwiches, pasta and vegetarian. The dining area is the
largest in town. If it is cold outside, no problem, get
comfy next to one of the two fiery fireplaces. On warmer
days, the outside deck is terrific. They have a full bar
where you can order off the "Cafe Menu." All in all, a
great place if you want a nice, peaceful evening of fine
dining.
