Webcam imagery can assist mountain drivers to judge the weather and driving. We are providing a "bird's eyes" view of Idyllwild from four webcams. The first is located near the town center of Idyllwild. The second cam location is in our nearest town, as the crow flies, Hemet. The third locale is 180 degrees in the opposite direction, Palm Springs. The last is located about a mile out of town on Highway 243. * Georgia webcam is undergoing maintenance at this time. THE IDYLLWILD SCRAPBOOK An area of multimedia that we think doesn't get the attention it should is that of 360 degree panorama photography. It simply is the best way to artificially visualize a subject, whether its a landscape, a family photo, or a product shot. The Idyllwild Scrapbook has about 30 such photos in its album. Enjoy !!

Shift Ur Heart Poetry Workshops Jazz Fest 
This friday, July 30, 2010, Cafe Cinema will show the 1959 b-movie horror classic, ATTACK OF THE 50 FOOT WOMAN. 
We return to the world of fine filmmaking with a showing of the 1959 Roger Corman produced epic, THE ATTACK OF THE 50 FOOT WOMAN. Corman was a pioneer in the making of B-Movies... those films that were combined with a main feature at a theatre to form a double bill. He was so adept at turning them out, he would make upwards of seven a year. So this week, we will do a little tribute to Roger and show a little fifteen minute documentary/interview detailing his experiences in making low budget exploitation/horror films in the fifties and sixties. 
We will begin the evening with episode 6, Flaming Death, from the 1940 serial, FLASH GORDON CONQUERS THE UNIVERSE. Cafe Cinema has weekly screenings of great films and is a production of and local filmic venue outlet for Idyllwild Film Festival. Please visit our website, www.cafecinema.org for full reviews. Wednesdays, June 30 - Aug 11, 5-7 PM Idyllwild Public Library Workshop leader Jean Waggoner is an Adjunct Associate Professor of English at the College of the Desert and Riverside City College. Her work has appeared in The National Poetry Anthology as well as in collegiate publications and poetry blog spots. Jean offers encouraging artistic criticism that inspires wood-be poets and authors to work on the craft of writing. Below are the rise & set times (24 hour format) of all the planets in our solar system. The celestial bodies are arranged in chronological rise time order and can be experienced in the Idyllwild area by looking in the lower southeast sky (towards Garner Valley). If the name of the planet is in purple, then it is currently visible under suitable conditions. To view the setting planet, look in the lower southwest sky, towards Hemet.
